One of the great things about teaching the earth sciences is that it is a topic your students can truly experience first hand. With our Regional Geology Series we can help you to add regional relevance to your course. This series provides you and your students with modules that relate geologic concepts to the geology in your back yard. The beautiful 4-color installments can be bound into any Cengage Learning text to create a more compelling regional edition, helping you tie together global concepts into local experiences. The series consists of two types of modules: The Regional Geology Modules and the Natural Hazards and Disasters Modules.
The Regional Geology Modules localize the concepts presented in physical and historical geology courses as well as earth science courses. This series provides students with a “Cap Stone Chapter” that relates geologic concepts that they have learned about in the course to their region of the country. Written by regional experts, each module includes vivid images of the region’s geologic features including maps and diagrams. Available Modules: The Geology of the Atlantic Southeast The Geology of New York & New Jersey The Geology of the Pacific Northwest The Geology of Florida coming soon! The Geology of Michigan and the Great Lakes The Geology of Ohio and Pennsylvania coming soon! The Geology of Southern California coming soon! The Geology of Upper Mississippi Valley and the Superior Basin
The Natural Hazards and Disasters Modules have been carefully selected to provide students with the opportunity to learn more about specific natural hazards that are relevant to the region of the country where they live. These modules are full color reprints from the very popular Natural Hazards and Disasters book by Donald and David Hyndman. Each Volume has been reprinted in its entirety, including end-of-chapter problems and “Case in Point” case studies, for easy integration into a variety of courses where discussion of natural hazards can add relevance to the regular coursework. Available Modules: Waves, Beaches, and Coastal Erosion: Rivers of Sand Hurricanes and Nor'Easter: The Big Winds
The series can be bound into any text to create a more compelling regional edition to help you highlight relevant material.Cengage Learning Contact your Cengage Learning representative to learn more
